Student Engagement

Drawing from interviews with over 80 administrators, educators, and community organizers, we found that civic engagement can look different for each region of the United States. To support the use of student-driven activities, we have organized our student engagement resources based on the different needs of educators.

I’m interested in student engagement resources related to:

  • The CivxNow project is an initiative run by iCivics. This project has developed an interactive map of the United States and their requirements of civics. CivxNow also tracks pending state bills related to civics education and and provides a directory of state-level civic education coalitions for educators to engage with. Click here to view!

  • The C3 Framework (College, Career, and Civic Life) was developed to promote the implementation of active learning in civic life and support state standards. This resource describes the connection between the framework and common core standards, as well as highlighting the development of inquiry skills.
